Baby Kit is Needed

In post disaster setting children and babies in particular became the most vulnerable ones among the affected community because their need for hygiene care are often neglected. Church World Service conducted an assessment to address this matter in Padang Pariaman district, West Sumatra.


Following the assessment, CWS has decided to provide baby kits, which contains of 1 baby cloth, soap, blanket and diapers. The kits were handed out to 20 midwives to reach 231 babies in the village. Another 175 baby kits will also be distributed to 13 midwives in South Pariaman sub-district. Based on request from Health Department, CWS also distributed 171 baby kits in 8 villages in Sungai Limau sub-district. Distribution has been conducted in collaboration with the village Community Health Center (PUSKESMAS).
