What We Do

Protecting Urban Refugees through Empowerment

More than 42 million of people worldwide are uprooted from their homes and communities by persecution and conflict. Refugees and asylum-seekers have often transited through various countries, in their search for protection and solutions. Indonesia is amongst 22 nations becoming a place for refugees awaiting for resettlement. While some displacement situations are short-term, others can take years and even decades to resolve.

CWS in partnership with the UNHCR provides social, health referral system and psychosocial assistances to UNHCR-recommended persons of concern (refugees and asylum seekers). The assistance program seeks to reduce their vulnerability to protection risks through a wide range of activities involving fellow community members with which persons of concern are interacting.
