Water and sanitation are indispensable to human health and well being. Water is also crucial for sustainable development, including environmental preservation and eradication of poverty and hunger. Yet, millions of Indonesians face water shortages and lack of basic sanitation.
CWS has implemented multiple programs to address water and sanitation issues for vulnerable populations in Indonesia. After an emergency, CWS ensures that the affected population receives a safe drinking water supply, proper water storage, and emergency sanitation facilities. In reconstruction, rehabilitation and development phases, CWS delivers improvement in water supply and sanitation facilities in term of access and quality, as well as climate change-sensitive and local-based water management and hygiene promotion.
