What We Do

Tanggap Darurat dan Kesiapan Bencana

Indonesia is vulnerable to natural and human-made disasters. The country is situated in the ‘ring of fire’ – a notorious zone for frequent earthquakes and volcanic eruptions. Floods, landslides and long drought seasons are also regular hazards in many regions. Additionally, some communities suffer from communal violence.

Dukungan Psikososial

Recovery from a natural or man-made disaster also inherently involves post-disaster trauma healing and community reconciliation. Psychosocial intervention and advocacy increases the resilience of affected communities.

Pembangunan Ekonomi

Indonesia’s economy is characterized by micro-businesses and informal markets. These sectors play a vital role in the country’s economic development and employ over 60% Indonesia’s workforce. The small-medium enterprise (SME) sector is relatively underdeveloped and squeezed by unfavorable pressures such as legal uncertainty, unfavorable investment climate and low access to banking services and skills development.

Kesehatan dan Gizi

National health and nutrition indicators show a disparity of health and nutrition amongst different socio-economic groups and regions of Indonesia. Inadequacies in health care in certain regions have a disproportionately large impact on children under five, pregnant women, and lactating mothers.

Air dan Sanitasi

Water and sanitation are indispensable to human health and well being. Water is also crucial for sustainable development, including environmental preservation and eradication of poverty and hunger. Yet, millions of Indonesians face water shortages and lack of basic sanitation.

HIV dan AIDS

The HIV prevalence rate in Indonesia is relatively low compared to other Southeast Asian countries. However, a high number of new infections is expected in some provinces such as Papua, DKI Jakarta, West Java, Bali and Banten. Furthermore in 2020, an estimated 1,7 million people will be infected with HIV if there is no intensive preventative response.

Pemberdayaan Pengungsi Perkotaan

More than 42 million of people worldwide are uprooted from their homes and communities by persecution and conflict. Refugees and asylum-seekers have often transited through various countries, in their search for protection and solutions. Indonesia is amongst 22 nations becoming a place for refugees awaiting for resettlement. While some displacement situations are short-term, others can take years and even decades to resolve.

Bina Perdamaian

Indonesian society has diverse faiths, ethnicities and racial identities. At times, this poses a great challenge to development and social issues. Respecting difference then becomes a foundation for building peace as well as just and strong national development
